Restorative  Yoga & Thai Massage Retreat:  A nurturing and therapeutic immersion for enhancing physical, mental, and spiritual well-being with Amy Cooper & Jade Webb

In this three-day weekend retreat, participants are invited into deep self-care through the balanced wheel of effort and surrender, giving and receiving. You'll be guided into the depths of your body and your being through Restorative Yoga Asana, Pranayama, Contemplation and Meditation; and explore the hands-on nurturing and renewal of basic Thai Yoga Massage. These practices compliment each other with the intention to recalibrate, replenish, and reorient you toward your own Guiding Principles in being with yourself, your life, each other.

Thai Yoga Bodywork

The Thai Yoga Bodywork portion of this five-day program gives an experience of, and training in, how to provide a basic Thai Yoga Bodywork sequence.  Along with introductory theory, this training includes instruction in fundamental supine, seated, and prone positions and incorporates acupressure - using hands, forearms, feet and knees - and assisted stretching to address common complaints/ailments.

Restoring Balance ~ Restorative Yoga

Restorative yoga addresses the therapeutic benefits of yoga and it’s practice promotes a “relaxation response” in the nervous system. This counteracts the stress forces of a “fight or flight” response on the immune system thereby creating renewed conditions for restoring physical and mental balance. Extended stays in Restorative Yoga postures stretch and tone the internal organs, and activate an internal cleansing; postures that invert the body increase the functioning of the glandular system. The introspective, deepening quality of Restorative Yoga is a self-empowering tool for healing and renewal of body, mind, heart, and spirit.

Restorative Yoga can enhance the healing of:

  • back pain
  • headaches
  • high blood pressure
  • asthma & chronic fatigue
  • stress related and/or immune conditions
  • cancer
  • depression & anxiety

Each morning session will be personally renewing, allowing time to practice a range of restorative postures, as well as flowing sequences with alignment exploration, breathing techniques, meditation and periods for discussion and self-inquiry.

Yogic Bandhas, or "locks", can be embodied as "lifts" in our yoga practice and serve to tonify, elongate, balance and energize the physical and energetic core. Using an East-West view of our Anatomy, come explore what arises when you enliven your core body and bring to standing, balancing and inverted postures as well as pranayama and meditation.
