Practicing yoga since 1979 and teaching since 1981, Amy received her certification from the Iyengar Yoga Institute in San Francisco and is currently founding Director of the Shasta Yoga Center and the VajraPani Yoga Teacher Training program. Amy has studied with BKS Iyengar, K Pattabhi Jois, and TKV Deskachar, with a variety of teachers - mainly Judith Lasater, Dona Holleman & Kofi Busia as well as Buddhist teachers from the U.S. and Asia. In her teaching, Amy facilitates each student to develop a sense of empowered freedom in relating to their body and mind. Drawing on ancient yogic teachings & Buddhist practice, she weaves a creative, invigorating yet calming, centering yet spacious exploration of Self through Asana. Amy offers annual yoga retreats in Mexico, Hawaii and on the Klamath River. (530) 926-0221

Catarina Wolmar

As a practitioner of yoga for close to 10 years, and a recent graduate of the Shasta Yoga Center’s 200 hour VajraPani Yoga Teacher Training, Catarina is developing a style of teaching rooted in the belief that yoga is for Every Body and that each pose can be modified to meet the student.  Having studied and trained at the Samarya Center in Seattle, Catarina has been deeply influenced by their therapeutic yoga programs as well as their their dedication to making yoga classes accessible to everyone through sliding scale rates. Studying with Amy Cooper has strengthened her focus and commitment to alignment and injury prevention as a pathway to deepening the practice.  Above all, Catarina loves sharing the joy of yoga.  (530) 925-6605

Metta Kolding

Metta has been practicing different styles of yoga for the past 23 years, mostly Hatha, Astanga, Vinyassa and Iyengar and has through yoga recovered 99% from back, knee and neck injuries. She is a native of Copenhagen, Denmark and chose to move to Mt. Shasta in 2009. She finds that yoga offers a way to meet an inherent, spiritual longing and replace it with a sense of prescemce, authenticity and balance. Metta recently completed her Yoga Teacher Training certification at the Shasta Yoga Center with Amy Cooper and is grateful to have the opportunity to share the freedom of yoga. (530) 859-0756

Jan Schrag

Jan Schrag has been a yoga practitioner for over 30 years.  Jan was first introduced to Kundalini yoga and then to Tri Yoga.  As an expressive arts major (dance and movement) in college, yoga was a natural progression. She recently completed the Vajra Pani Yoga Training with Amy Cooper. As a newly certified teacher, she brings a passion for sharing the yoga teachings along with a commitment to service and empowerment of others. (530) 925-4204

Mona Therese Winston

Mona Therese, E-RYT, is a Reiki Master Teacher and a Yoga and Meditation Teacher from Denmark with over 17 years experience. Mona Therese's Journeys to India and to Thich Nhat Hahn's Plum Village Monastery, and her time with His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, have inspired her to maintain true to the traditions on the path of Yoga and Meditation. Mona's  teaching is influenced by her teachers and different yoga styles, which are Ashtanga, Iyengar, Vinyasa, Sivananda and Kriya Yoga. (541) 499-5064

Nancy has been practicing Yoga for 30+ years; Amy Cooper being her main inspiration over the past 18 years.  A 2009 Vajra Pani Yoga graduate with a 200 hour yoga certification,  Nancy brings her enthusiasm and experience to all those who want to encounter the life changing joys of practicing Yoga. Joann is a Licensed ZUMBA Fitness and ZUMBA Toning instructor and is AFAA Group Exercise Certified. She has been teaching and inspiring in the exercise and fitness world for over 30 years.  She loves ZUMBA Fitness because it is an aerobic/resistance/sculpting class that has the reputation of exercise in disguise! ZUMBA’s formula and music make this experience like a PARTY that is fun, different, easy and very effective. ZUMBA is great for the mind, body and soul! Rob Stuart

Rob Stuart is a modern day yogi who learned his trade in the world mecca of yoga... San Francisco... While there he earned a 500 hour yoga teacher certification as well as a yoga therapy certification from Purusha yoga school.  Focusing on the transformational aspects of yoga, Rob opened his own donation based yoga studio in oakland.  There he honed his skills as a teacher and learned from  some of the greatest yogis in the world.  Rob thrives on making yoga accessible to all body types and skill levels. It doesn't matter how flexible you are, he will help you find posses that feel great, open you up and make you stronger.  He lives his practice and invites his students to find their edge, breathe deep, and open to their greatness!
